single-visit pulp revascularization of a nonvital immature permanent tooth using biodentine
Authors
abstract
an 11-year-old female patient was referred with a chief complaint of pain in the right mandibular second premolar. clinical and radiographic examinations showed secondary caries under an old composite restoration, a negative response to a pulp test and an immature root with an open apex. after root canal cleaning and shaping, bleeding was invoked in the canal up to 2 mm short of the cemento-enamel junction (cej). after 10 min to allow clotting at this level, a plug of biodentine was placed over the blood clot and the tooth was temporized with glass ionomer cement. at the next visit, the tooth was free of symptoms and a permanent filling was placed. clinical and radiographic examinations during a two-year follow-up showed complete root maturation and intact supporting soft tissues without sinus tract, pain or swelling. conclusion: the use of biodentine in a single-visit apexification protocol to treat an immature permanent tooth with necrotic pulp can create a suitable environment for revascularization, resulting in the completion of root maturation. key words: biodentine; immature apex; pulp revascularization

full textManagement of a Nonvital Young Permanent Tooth by Pulp Revascularization
This report presents the case of a 10-year-old patient with a nonvital young permanent tooth which was managed by pulp revascularization. Following disinfection of the canal by irrigation with NaOCl and use of a triantibiotic paste, a scaffold was created by inducing the formation of a blood clot within the canal. At the subsequent follow-up visits, the patient was asymptomatic, with normal res...
full textRevascularization Treatment of Immature Permanent Tooth with Necrotic Pulp: A Case Report
Introduction: Revascularization is the newest treatment proposed for an immature permanent tooth with necrotic pulp. Revascularization is defined as a treatment process with a biological base which is aimed at replacing the lost structures and the continued development of roots. Case presentation: Patient was an eight-year-old child with the history of trauma to the maxillary anterior region. ...

AIM To discuss the clinical and radiological outcome of a revascularization procedure which was completed in a single visit (using sodium hypochlorite 5% as the sole disinfectant) in an immature tooth with a necrotic pulp and apical periodontitis. SUMMARY A 7-year-old girl was referred in pain following trauma to the maxillary anterior region some 6-7 weeks previously. The maxillary left cent...
full textRegeneration (Revascularization) of Immature Permanent First Molar Tooth: A Case Report
Introduction: Dental pulp health is very important during permanent dental root completion that takes place in the first three years after eruption. Any injury to the dental pulp during endodontic treatment or physical trauma causes disruption in the improvement of root formation. In this case it had been searched for a conservative treatment of permanent immature teeth. Case presentation: The...
full textPulp Revascularization in Immature Permanent Tooth with Apical Periodontitis Using Mineral Trioxide Aggregate
Mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) is a material that has been used worldwide in several clinical applications, such as apical barriers in teeth with immature apices, repair of root perforations, root-end filling, pulp capping, and pulpotomy. The purpose of this case report was to describe successful revascularization treatment of an immature mandibular right second premolar with apical periodont...
